On Wednesday December 16, 2020 at 6:38PM Cesar Quintana called the police to report his son Alexander Quintana was taken by his biological mother Antonina Aslanova, a violation of their custody agreement. It was not until Cesar explicitly expressed concern about a potential kidnapping to Ukraine that the police issued an Amber Alert at roughly 10:30PM.
Per the police report (which can be viewed in photo gallery) On December 15, 2020 Cesar Quintana had gallbladder surgery and invited Antonina to his residence to help watch Alexander while he recovered. Antonina arrived at Cesar's place via Uber ride. On December 16, 2020, at about 2:00PM, Cesar fell asleep on the couch for approximately 2 hours (the report does not state that Cesar believes that Antonina may have slipped him a sedative). When he woke up, Antonina and Alexander were gone from the residence. Cesar last spoke to Antonina at about 6:27PM via text message when she responded to him stating she was at the store. Cesar told Antonina she was not allowed to be alone with Alexander and told her to bring him back to his residence. Antonina did not respond to Cesar and he attempted to call her but his calls went straight to voicemail. Cesar stated Antonina may have returned to her residence located at Las Flores Ave in the city of Aliso Viejo. Deputies Ngo and Munguia broke away from their call with Cesar to respond to an emergency call for service.

At about 8:30PM, Cesar returned home and discovered Alexander’s passport was missing. Cesar kept his sons passport in a document binder in the cabinet above the fridge. In addition, he stated a cashiers check in the amount of $3000 and approximately $300 in cash kept inside the kitchen drawer was missing. Cesar did not give anyone permission to take the passport and money. Cesar believed Antonina had stolen the money and the passport. Cesar became fearful Antonina attempted to take Alexander out of the country because he noticed that their passports were missing from the residence. Cesar stated Antonina kept her Ukrainian Czechoslovakian and American passports at his residence in the closet by the front door and they were also missing. Cesar stated Antonina‘s vehicle, 2014 silver mini Cooper, was missing from the garage at her residence.
Cesar described Alexander is 35 inches in height, weighing 30 pounds, brown eyes, and blondish/brown hair. Cesar last saw Alexander wearing a blue jacket with gray sleeves, blue denim pants, and brown shoes. He described Antonina as 5'7, 150 pounds with green eyes and long dark brown hair. He did not remember what she was wearing. Cesar stated Antonina has a history of alcohol abuse and was arrested several times for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Alexander was added to the missing person system under FCN# 373 203 520 0008. Antonina was also added to the missing person system under FCN# 373 203 520 0017. An emergency cell phone pinging of Antonina‘s phone was conducted and the most recent hit was near the area of Michelson Drive in the city of Irvine at approximately 6:46PM on 12/16/2020. Irvine Police Department conducted a patrol check of the area and was unable to locate the vehicle or subjects
After further investigation it was determined Antonina and Alexander boarded international flight departing from LAX on 12/16/2020, at about 3:25PM traveling on Turkish Airlines flight #TK 10 to Istanbul Turkey.
